About Chronicle
Chronicle is the modern format of presentations - like having the world’s best designers and storytellers bring your ideas to life. We’re backed by Accel and SquarePeg ($7.5M seed). We are used by hundreds of thousands of users and over 10,000 teams. Chronicle was also #4 Product of the Year in 2025 on Product Hunt, with hundreds of Chronicle decks being shared every day and 85% of the users saying they would be disappointed if Chronicle didn’t exist. They call us the “Cursor for Slides” - we’re building the world’s first AI-native presentation that is already loved by founders, agencies, and global teams. Experience it for yourself → Try Chronicle. You can also view a sample deck here on desktop: Intro to Chronicle.

About the Role
We’re looking for a designer obsessed with clarity, structure, and beauty - someone who can transform raw information into stories that are impossible to look away from.
Being a Presentation Designer at Chronicle is all about shaping the future of how people share ideas. You will be at the heart of designing Chronicle’s core visual language: our presentation templates, default content, and the fine details of interaction that make a deck feel like magic.
Templates are fundamental in Chronicle for people to create compelling and convincing pitches, proposals, team meetings and all types of decks. Templates bring the sexiness of the web to presentations: they are modern, design to pixel perfection and effortless to create and customise. This role will own and shape the direction for how our templates and defaults (backgrounds, images, themes) look and feel.
This is an opportunity to do career-defining work at the intersection of design, storytelling, and cutting-edge AI.
Core responsibilities of this role →
- Lead the design of the next set of presentation templates — balancing beautiful visuals with compelling content, diagrams and information design.
- Work on designing new default image sets for our core product
- Partner closely with product design to turn ideas for new widgets into elegant, well-scoped solutions.
What You’ll Own
Template & Information Design (Primary Focus)
- Lead the design of the next generation of Chronicle presentation templates. Balance stunning visuals with compelling content, precise diagrams, and world-class information design
- Distill complex data and narratives into elegant, instantly understandable visual systems
- Own the direction for how our defaults (backgrounds, images, themes, typography) look and feel out of the box
Visual Systems & Craft
- Obsess over visual hierarchy, proportion, and the relationship between content and context
- Think deeply about how information is visualized through motion, interaction, and static visuals
- Curate and design new default image sets and assets that elevate the core product experience
Product Collaboration
- Partner closely with the Product Design team to turn ideas for new widgets and features into elegant, well-scoped solutions
- Bring a first-principles approach to problem-solving, always maintaining a strong bias for simplicity and clarity
