About the Role

• Ship features with a mentor: Pair with a senior engineer to deliver product features from spec to production. Own well scoped components or flows, write high quality code, and see work through QA and rollout.
• Translate design into resilient UI: Implement responsive layouts, typography, motion, and micro-interactions from Figma with pixel-level care.
• Harden quality and performance: Use DevTools to profile and debug. Add thoughtful tests for critical paths.
• Collaborate tightly with design and product: Deep dive on design problems, consider broader impacts define and implement solutions that align with architectural standards
• Close the loop with users: Triage UI bugs, fix polish issues, and learn to connect engineering decisions to user outcomes.

This is a remote, full-time role. Our team is spread across the US, India, and Australia.

Must Haves

• Evidence of craft: A portfolio or repo that shows taste and finish. This can be internships, freelance, open source, or personal apps.
• Strong HTML and CSS: Fluency with layout, spacing, typography, responsive design, and component driven styling.
• Practical JavaScript or TypeScript: Comfort with modern JS and at least one component model such as React. You can break a problem into small composable pieces.
• First principles problem-solving: Ability to understand problems deeply, come up with elegant, simple solutions and take end-to-end ownership to bring these to life
  • Comfortable picking up new stacks and choosing the right tool to get the job done

Great to Have

• 1-2 years of UI development at a reputed software company
• Experience building creation tools, editors, or visual canvases.
• Design literacy, motion design, or a history of close design collaboration.
• Open source contributions related to frontend tools.
• Bonus: experience with XState, Prosemirror or Yjs.
